Not a fan of frozen veggies or berries, but I don't do garden and do cans only occasionally - something my parents are really excellent at (along with the whole country). I just buy fresh and cook practically daily. But not everyone has time or energy for it, and I can understand that, we all have different priorities. Justin is still amazed that I cook everything from scratch, but that's what I love and what I got used to.

Much love!
KarenKaren (Allegrias Landhaus)https://www.blogger.com/profile/02897847603378807598noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7900207826814243001.post-72839491090794507312018-10-25T08:16:07.624+02:002018-10-25T08:16:07.624+02:00violet/lemon jelly! goody - you´r the best!

Mine were small spindly things this year.

Our freezer is small-just the top part of the fridge, but it would be difficult to manage without. I could do it, but I wouldn't want to. I've still been preserving, though this year I had a smaller garden. We candied the violets for decorating cakes in the winter, and by some miracle they are still alive in the garden (even after snow) so I might make a batch of violet/lemon jelly.
I can never seem to get it right. My Grandmother did this all the time.

I was reading how salt has become plastic. There is so much plastic in the waters where salt it mined that sometimes up to 70% of what we think is salt is actually plastic, which we then sprinkle on our food. The worst places are Asia and the best place for natural salt is France.

https://motherboard.vice.com/en_us/article/wj9a95/youre-literally-sprinkling-plastic-on-your-food

Thanks for the shout-out.
