The name lungwort was given to it because the leaves were thought to look like diseased lungs and logically this of course meant that they might cure lung ailments as well. It is used sometimes as a remedy for clearing up excessive mucus in the bronchials, though I'm not sure how effective it is. I love the blue colour.
