SGZ - stilgebungszone

    Herzlichst

  2. Now here's a woman at ease with her looks and exuding confidence! I love every single one of those outfits, you've got a gorgeous figure and those re-purposed shorts show your legs off beautifully, Women's shorts are rarely cut in a flattering way, are they? xxxx

  3. What a wonderful collection of your outfits! I saw most of the photos before, but some are new to me. You are gorgeous, Beate! Problem zone? What problem zone? I don't think we have any!

  4. Liebe Beate,

  6. I think that is such a good way to think, not to call anything a "problem" area. I think it is time to move away from the idea that we should all be striving to look as close to hourglass shaped as we can get or to fake an hour glass shape. Why not just embrace and love the shape we are? I aim for that, though I have to admit that my main goal is not to look fatter than I am and I am not able to embrace the idea of a larger me. The size and shape I am now is what feels like the real me. I am not trying to be any thinner or look thinner but I do wish to look as I am and not bigger. You have a lovely figure and look really lovely in a defined waistline. I have come to terms with not liking the feel of restriction at my waist and that my shape doesn't suit a cinched look anyhow. I do not mind looking straight up and down, and I know that I look curvier if I wear something with the right seaming and fitting but without sewing my own it is not easy to find that. I am longer than average in the torso so with purchased dresses the waistline is always a bit higher than my natural waist and thus unflattering and uncomfortable. My mum used to make dresses for me and add an inch to the torso length. I suppose it is fortunate that I don't really pursue a classic looking style anyhow.

If I don't like anything about my body, it is mainly that I am unable to maintain physical activity enough for it to be fit and firm. Blaming myself for that or worrying about it would not change anything though and is not healthy.

I love your style and the wonderful ensembles you create and your amazing sewing and designing talent. You have a unique beauty and style and although you probably look better in jeans than you think you do, how you feel in them is just as important. Clothes have to feel right not just look fine to other people.

My favourite picture here is the one where you are standing on the rocks, wearing pink and white. You look like a Queen, feminine and strong. I would caption the picture "I am beautiful, but don't ever underestimate me."

  7. Liebe Beate.

  8. Sweet Beate, what a jaw-droppingly beautiful look at some of your stylish, inspiring, marvelous outfits. I swear, I scrolled through these photos four times. Soaking up ones that were new to me and enjoying older favourites alike. You have such a wonderfully unique, beautiful sense of style that never fails to speak to my fashion loving soul.

  11. I agree - bodies, body shapes, aren't a problem. If you work with what you've got and dress to compliment it, we can all shine. And shine you do, Beate, in every one of these outfits! I think you have such a unique style aesthetic - no on else could wear these clothes and look as utterly comfortable and beautiful as you, it's as though they are part of you. And isn't that what we all aim for, for our wardrobes to express something about us, rather than looking like a uniform or costume? You've got that sorted and I love it! xxxx

  13. I was a bit late to check this post of yours but I'm glad I did. I've said that before but I trully enjoy your sense of style. I love all your outfits, the fabrics, little details and accessories. I mostly like the 3rd and 7th outfit. The shorts are a great fit for your long legs! Perfect and you wear with confidence. I can't imagine you in modern clothes, I'm sure you take it as a compliment!
